The World Museum of Mining is a 22-acre open-air museum on the site of the Orphan Girl mine above Butte, with a collection of relocated historic buildings and mining equipment. Butte lost many miners to accidents, and Southwest Montana's haunted-places guide lists the museum for apparitions of fallen miners, especially underground.
Seasonal museum with historic buildings and mining equipment open spring through fall. Check the museum for current hours and tour options.
