The Butler-Turpin House at General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton is a Greek Revival house built in 1859 that was home to several generations of the Butler and Turpin families. It holds memorabilia from the War of 1812, when General William Orlando Butler served under Andrew Jackson at New Orleans. Kentucky Tourism lists the house among the state's haunted places, noting that many sounds and sights have been reported in the mansion and around the grounds. The park runs paid paranormal tours of the house each October during its Boo Bash event. Daytime guided house tours are offered at other times of the year.
