Chartered in 1919 and located at 707 Jefferson St., this is one of Indiana's largest American Legion posts; originally named for Jefferson County, it was renamed in 2018 to honor World War I Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Samuel Woodfill. Members and visitors describe weird noises and cold spots, along with an old woman and man seen, mostly in the basement.
Veterans' post, renamed Samuel Woodfill Post 9 in 2018. It is a members' club that also hosts public live-music nights, so check the post's calendar before going.
