Wailau Valley, on Molokai's remote north shore beneath some of the highest sea cliffs in the world, is said to be haunted by the Night Marchers — spirits of ancient warriors reliving their march to and from battle, especially on nights of the new moon. Locals describe the sound of drums, conch shells, and chanting echoing through the valley, and hold that anyone who encounters the marchers should lie face-down and avoid eye contact rather than risk their anger.
Remote valley on Molokai's north shore with no road access. Reaching it needs a boat or a very difficult hike, plus the landowners' permission. It is not set up for casual visitors.
