Along Wailea's coastline, a woman in a white gown — known locally as the White Lady of Wailea — is said to wander the shore, occasionally stopping to stare at passersby before continuing on. Some say she's a guardian watching over the coast; others say she's searching for something she lost. Her story circulates alongside other well-known Maui hauntings, though no single documented origin account has been found.
The Wailea shoreline can be reached on foot by public beach accesses and the coastal path. Be respectful of the resort neighbors, and stay off private grounds.
