Peery's Egyptian Theater opened on July 3, 1924 on Washington Boulevard, built on the site of the Arlington Hotel after a fire and decorated in the Egyptian Revival style then in fashion. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. Visit Utah and Visit Ogden say patrons and staff report a feeling of being watched, shadowy figures, footsteps and a woman on the balcony; one story ties a ghost to a carpenter's daughter who fell during construction, but that has not been confirmed in the sources found. The accounts are tourism lore.
