The Sun Tavern in Duxbury is an upscale-casual restaurant in a historic New England country home that has served diners since the 1930s. It displays the framed death certificate of Lysander Walker, the former owner who was found shot in the living room in 1928, and his ghost is the one most often named by staff. Two girls, Mary and Elizabeth Williamson, who died of scarlet fever on the property in the 1700s, are said to haunt the upstairs. The restaurant embraces the stories, and CBS Boston, Boston Magazine and other outlets have written about them; reports include shifting tables and glasses that fall over for no reason.
A restaurant open Tuesday through Saturday evenings; check its hours and reserve ahead.
