The Cutler Majestic Theatre, built in 1903 and now owned by Emerson College, is a historic Boston theater that has long been called one of the most haunted in the Theater District. The best-known story says a mayor died in his seat during a performance and is still seen there, although no record of a mayor dying in the theater has turned up. Staff and audiences have also told of a little girl and a couple in turn-of-the-century clothes who are seen in the long-closed balcony.
A working theater that is open for ticketed performances; see the venue's calendar for shows.
