The Mordecai House in Mordecai Historic Park is a plantation house in Raleigh, home to the Mordecai family for generations and where Andrew Johnson's birthplace cabin now stands. Tour guides and guests report a lady in gray, said to be Mary Willis Mordecai Turk, sometimes seen on the balcony and at the piano in the drawing room, along with family photographs said to fly off the walls when the Mordecai name is spoken. The park interprets the history of the family and of the enslaved people who lived and worked here.
Historic park open daily with house tours on a scheduled basis; check the park for hours and ghost tours.
