The Lee-Fendall House in Old Town Alexandria, built in 1785, was home to members of the Lee family for decades and later to labor leader John L. Lewis, and it has been a museum since 1974. Local reporting tells of a figure in period nurse's clothing, a woman and child on the back stairwell and the ring of an antique telephone, and the house appeared on an episode of SYFY's Ghost Hunters. The museum runs a Grief & Ghosts tour about Victorian mourning and tragic deaths.
