The Hotel Metlen was built in 1897 by Joseph C. Metlen beside the railroad in Dillon and became a stop for travelers, businessmen and, as the stories go, outlaws, with two saloons, a dance floor, a restaurant and a gaming room. The brick hotel is now the subject of a long renovation. Owner Lee Bryant has described hearing boots scraping on floors and finding things moved. The upper floor was kept closed for years, and stories of a suicide and other deaths on the third floor drew the Ghost Adventures crew, who investigated the hotel in an episode of the series.
Under long-term renovation. A bar has operated on select evenings and some rooms have been offered, but hours change, so check the hotel's current status before visiting. The closed third floor is not open to guests.
