The Hotel Galvez, opened in 1911 on Galveston's Seawall, is the island's oldest surviving grand hotel and was built after the 1900 hurricane. Guests report that Room 505 feels uncomfortable and carries the scent of gardenias, and that other ghosts are rumored but little known. It is a stop on Galveston ghost tours.
Working resort hotel on the Seawall; the lobby is open to visitors and Galveston's ghost tours often mention it.
