The Fox Theater in downtown Spokane, an Art Deco movie palace opened in 1931 and now the home of the Spokane Symphony, is said to be haunted by Otis, a worker who died after a fall during construction. Crews restoring the theater in the 2000s blamed Otis for missing tools, failed equipment, lights that switched on and off and locking doors, and the symphony keeps a ghost light on its stage partly in his honor. The tales are theater lore, and the Fox runs ghost-themed walking tours.
