The Davenport Hotel, opened in 1914 by Louis Davenport, is Spokane's grand historic hotel. The hotel's communications director has told local media of a woman in 1920s dress seen peering over the lobby railing, said to be a widow, Ellen McNamara, who died in a fall through a skylight in 1920, and the hotel puts a rose on the mantle for her each August. Night staff also tell of a figure in a bathrobe and slippers roaming the halls, which is linked to Louis Davenport's habit of walking the hotel at 3 a.m.
Working luxury hotel with restaurants; the lobby is open to visitors.
