Fort Worden, a coastal artillery fort at Port Townsend built around 1902, is now a state park, conference center and arts campus with batteries, bunkers and tunnels. Outside magazine named it one of the most haunted campgrounds in the country in 2019, and visitors report an old guard still on duty and army sergeants. The park's own sites do not promote the stories, and a park employee would not confirm them, so they are visitor lore.
State park open daily (a Discover Pass is needed for parking); Port Townsend's Haunted Histories walks run in October.
