Castle Town, named for the rock turrets above it, was a silver camp that after about 1882 held up to a couple of thousand people, with a school, many saloons and several brothels, then declined after the Silver Panic of 1893 and was emptied by the late 1930s. The townsite is private property with strict no-trespassing signs, but a public road passes close enough for views.
Private; look only from the public road near Highway 294 and do not enter.
