The Lobby Bar occupies a 1914 building in downtown Great Falls whose upper floors were once a hotel. Over the decades the building was a speakeasy and brothel during Prohibition, then a jazz club in the 1940s. Local accounts describe a lean cowboy seen in an upstairs window in the afternoon and the sound of cowboy boots on the floors with no footprints to match. A longer story says a fire once broke out in the old hotel above, killing several women who worked there, and that their screams can still be heard. Locals have long said a dozen or more spirits share the upper floors.
Operating bar on Central Avenue; the upper floors are not open to the public. Visit the bar during business hours.
