Chico Hot Springs is a historic hot springs resort in Paradise Valley, north of Yellowstone, and is among the best-known haunted lodgings in Montana. Its most famous story belongs to Percie Knowles, who ran the resort as a widow. For a time the property served as a hospital, and when business fell off in the 1930s she tore down the hospital wing and, in failing health, lived out her last days in Room 349, where her comfort was a rocking chair by the window with a view of the mountains. Guests and staff say the chair still moves on its own and turns toward the view if it is turned away. Staff have also described figures in the narrow hallways near the old hospital area.
Open to the public as a resort with lodging, a restaurant, a saloon and hot spring pools. Room 349 is a guest room, so ask when booking.
