The Captain Bailey House in Brownville, a Missouri River town on the National Register, was moved from the riverbank in 1877 and is now a museum on Main Street. It is named for Captain Bailey, a Civil War veteran believed to have been poisoned by a jealous neighbor. Nebraska haunted-places lists report doors that open and close on their own and piano music coming from different rooms. Visitors and staff have long described the house as haunted.
Museum on Main Street, open in season; check hours. The map pin marks Brownville and is approximate.
