Seven Sisters Road is a rural county road in Otoe County south of Nebraska City, known on maps as County Road L. Local legend says a man hanged each of his seven sisters on seven hills along the road, though no record supports it, and some local-history accounts instead point to men who were hanged in the area in the mid-1800s. Nebraska tourism lists the road for cars that stall, screams, disembodied voices and shadowy figures reported at night. Only a few of the hills are still recognizable.
A public county road lined with private farmland and homes. Drive it in daylight, stay in your vehicle or on the roadway and do not trespass. The map pin is approximate.
