The Bingham-Waggoner Estate in Independence is a historic house dating to 1852 that was once home to the artist George Caleb Bingham and later to the Waggoner family. Visitors report phantom footsteps, a bridal figure on the main staircase and a man in a long coat and top hat. It is one of the stops on Independence's paranormal passport promoted by the city's tourism office. The house operates as a museum and event site with limited hours.
