The Wendy Williamson Auditorium is a 910-seat theatre on the west campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage, and its ghost stories have been written up in the Anchorage Daily News and the student paper. Staff and student crews describe a woman in white appearing on stage, props flung from furniture and stage lights failing in the light booth, shadows sliding along the walls, footsteps in an empty house, and the lobby piano playing by itself. A more unpleasant presence is blamed for shoving people on the stairs. A portrait of a man is said to come off the wall wherever it is hung. On at least three occasions, staff have found the accessible restroom door held shut from the inside, with no one there when it finally opened.
