The Old Talbott Tavern in Bardstown has served travelers since 1779 and is billed as one of the oldest stagecoach stops in the country. Paranormal investigator Patti Starr has investigated the tavern, and guests and staff have long reported footsteps, voices and an unseen presence in the upstairs guest rooms. The tavern is a working restaurant and inn, and it leans into its history more than its ghost stories. Tales of famous guests are retold here, though the details vary from telling to telling.
Working restaurant and inn on Bardstown's main street, open to diners and overnight guests. Check the tavern's site or call for dining hours and room availability.
