Seaview Terrace, also called the Carey Mansion, is a 40,000-square-foot Châteauesque house on Newport's Cliff Walk, the largest privately owned Gilded Age summer cottage in the city. It was built for the whiskey magnate Edson Bradley in Washington, D.C., then dismantled and rebuilt in Newport, and its exterior was used as Collinwood in the television series Dark Shadows. The ghost most often named is Mrs. Bradley, said to be heard playing her Estey organ, along with phantom footsteps and disembodied voices. Ghost Hunters investigated the mansion in 2011, and the team reported a male voice in the grand hall, sharp temperature changes in the tower and a door handle that turned by itself.
A private residence that is not open for tours or visits. It can be glimpsed from the Cliff Walk; please do not trespass or approach the house.
