The Shanghai Tunnels are a network of passages beneath Portland's Old Town and Chinatown, built in the late 1800s and early 1900s for moving goods from ships. Legend and history link them to the shanghaiing of men, who were drugged or beaten and taken to work on ships, and to women trafficked in the same era. The 90-minute tour from Old Town Pizza tells these histories and the story of Nina, and Portland lists have named the tunnels among the most haunted places in America.
Guided tours only, starting at Old Town Pizza and ticketed in advance. The pin marks the tour's starting point.
