Captain Bill opened this inn in 1896, and it has operated as a hotel and restaurant on Marco Island ever since. Guests and staff describe footsteps, voices, cold drafts, chairs that move on their own, and the sound of an old typewriter with no one at the keys. Room 255 is particularly associated with Anita Conklin, a longtime resident whose husband managed the Miami Seaquarium and who died in the room in 1994.
Operating historic inn with restaurants open to the public. Rooms are for guests.
