The Oklahoma Governor's Mansion, a Dutch Colonial Revival house dedicated in 1928 near the state Capitol, is the official residence of the state's governors. Staff, occupants and visitors say it is haunted by William "Alfalfa Bill" Murray, governor from 1931 to 1935, who is blamed for making people stumble on the stairs to the second floor. Former first lady Cathy Keating said she herself was tripped. The story appears in Oklahoma City ghost lists by 405 Magazine and others.
Working residence with free guided tours by reservation (Thursday mornings at last report); call the Governor's Mansion to book.
