Built in 1907 and opened as Globe's main elementary school in 1917 — the future Arizona governor Rose Mofford was a pupil — this hillside schoolhouse taught children until 1981 and later reopened as a bed and breakfast, which it remains. The stories go back to its school days: a lantern seen burning in empty classrooms at night, and books found moved from where children had left them. Guests today report children's voices and laughter with no children in the building, footsteps, unexplained lights, and small objects that shift on their own.
Noftsger Hill Inn operates as a bed and breakfast open to overnight guests.
