The Nebraska State Capitol, built between 1922 and 1932 and crowned by a tall tower, is one of the country's best-known state capitols. Its ghost story concerns a prisoner who, according to the legend, was sent to string Christmas lights on the dome as a way to shorten his sentence and fell to his death in 1932. Visitors and staff have reported an apparition and voices. The Lincoln ghost tour includes the building.
Free guided tours daily; the building is a working seat of government, so check hours.
