The Governor's Palace, home of Virginia's royal governors from the 1720s, was rebuilt in the 1930s on its original foundations as part of Colonial Williamsburg after the original burned in 1781. It also served as a hospital for wounded soldiers after Yorktown. Ghost lore tells of a young woman haunting the palace and the house nearby, and Colonial Williamsburg and independent operators run haunted walking tours through the historic district.
Part of the Colonial Williamsburg historic area; admission or a tickets pass is required for the interiors, and ghost tours run in the evenings.
