The Elmore Ghost Rider is a legend from the farm roads outside Elmore in Ottawa County, and TourismOhio lists it among its haunted places. The story goes that a soldier home from World War I found that the woman he loved had moved on and roared off on his motorcycle in grief, crashing on a bridge over a creek. Locals say that if you park near the bridge, flash your lights and honk three times, a lone headlight appears and races past before vanishing across the bridge. The tale has been retold for decades, with details that change from teller to teller.
A rural-road legend with no formal site. The pin marks the village of Elmore; the roads are public but narrow and unlit, so drive carefully, respect nearby farms and do not trespass.
