Crystal is a small mining-camp ghost town high on the Crystal River, best known for the weathered Crystal Mill, a timber powerhouse perched over the river. About ten historic cabins remain, some of them privately owned. The mill stands on private land, and in 2023 the owner closed the foot trail to its base and the nearby store after trespassing and vandalism, so it can now be seen mainly from the road.
Rough Jeep road from Marble; the mill itself is on private property, so check current access and respect closures.
