The Constantine Theater on Main Street in Pawhuska began as a hotel in the 1880s and became an opera house in 1911; it is one of Oklahoma's oldest operating theaters and is on the National Register of Historic Places. TravelOK lists it among the state's most haunted places: visitors and investigators report a young woman in a button-down dress, perhaps Sappho Constantine Brown, daughter of founder George Constantine, who sits in the balcony and sometimes walks the lower level. The haunting is also described in Haunted Highway: The Spirits of Route 66.
Working theater with plays, films and concerts; hours vary by event, and it can also be seen by appointment.
