The Cherokee Strip Museum in Alva occupies the former Alva General Hospital, built in 1932 and closed in 1972. TravelOK includes it among Oklahoma's most haunted places: staff and visitors speak of the spirits of surgery patients, a blood stain on a floor that has resisted cleaning, and lights and shadows moving at night among the museum's vintage medical equipment, including an embalming table. The Enid News & Eagle has covered the museum's own accounts of the unexplained.
