Cedar Grove is an antebellum mansion in Vicksburg that now operates as an inn and is regularly named among the most haunted places to stay in Mississippi. Guests describe a hazy, transparent woman who appears at night at the right window of the Queen Victoria Room, floats past the fireplace and fades. Other stories name a boy called Willie, said to have been shot in the chest, and children heard playing in the Bonnie Blue room. As with much of Vicksburg, the house's stories are tied to the 1863 siege, which brought gunfire and suffering to the whole town.
Operating historic inn with rooms, a restaurant and gardens. The best way to experience it is an overnight stay; ask about the rooms mentioned in the stories when booking.
