Café de Manuel has served Mexican food from the same family's recipes on North Pinal Avenue since 1995, in a building that began as a private house and spent a stretch as a 7-Eleven. Staff and long-standing customers tell of an elderly woman taken to be the house's first owner, and of a second presence some tie to a clerk from the convenience-store years. No record supports either story, and no particular event is documented here.
Café de Manuel is open to the public during regular restaurant hours.
