Opened in 1916, the Avon Theatre became the life's work of Greek immigrant Gust Konstantopoulos, who ran it for five decades. Even after selling the theater in the 1960s, he kept an office upstairs and was still working there when he died in 1965. When the theater reopened in 1999 after a period of closure, staff began reporting mysterious figures in the auditorium and doors and lights operating on their own; ghost-story researcher Troy Taylor has described personally seeing Gust's apparition standing in the doorway of his old office. The Avon's reputation has since earned it coverage on multiple television specials about haunted America.
The theater is reported to have closed in 2025, so there are no regular showings. Check local listings to see whether it reopens, and don't enter the closed building.
