The Arctic Building, completed in 1917 as a club for gold-rush Alaskans and known for the walrus heads on its facade, is now a hotel. Its ghost lore centers on the fifth floor, where U.S. Representative Marion Zioncheck died on August 7, 1936 after a fall from his office window, a death ruled a suicide that some people have long questioned. Guests and staff report elevators that open on their own, footsteps in empty halls and a cold breeze in the room where he died.
Working hotel with a lobby and ballroom; ghost tours in Seattle sometimes stop here.
