Room 501 in Willard C. Eddy Hall, part of UConn's Alumni Quad, is the campus's most persistently reported haunted dorm room, covered over the years by the student-run Daily Campus and the Hartford Courant alike. The story holds that a student died of a drug overdose in the fifth-floor double sometime in the past, though even the campus legend disagrees on the student's name and the exact circumstances. Generations of residents have reported being unable to catch their breath in the room, cold breezes with the window shut, a hand pressing on their shoulder, knocking with no one there, and the door rattling on its own.
Student residence hall at the University of Connecticut. The room is assigned to current students and is not open to visitors. Please respect residents' privacy and do not enter the building without a student host.
