Bouse, Arizona

Swansea was a copper town of about 500 people served by its own railroad from Bouse, and the post office closed in 1924. The American Smelting and Refining Company rebuilt much of it before the Depression closed the mines for good in 1937. Ruins, mine workings and a few no-fee campsites sit on Bureau of Land Management land reached by a long dirt road.
Remote and rough; stay out of open shafts, and take water.
