Rolling Hills Asylum in East Bethany is the former Genesee County Poor Farm and Infirmary, which cared for the poor, sick and mentally ill from the 1820s into the 1970s and recorded well over a thousand deaths. It is now a privately run paranormal destination and a stop on the Haunted History Trail, known for a Shadow People Hallway and for decaying rooms with hospital beds and medical equipment. Visitors take guided tours and join ghost hunts, and the many people who lived and died here are worth remembering with respect.
Open by ticket for guided tours and organized ghost hunts; there is no walk-in access. Check the site for dates.
