One of two Christian County cemeteries nicknamed "Cemetery X" — the more famous version is Thomas Anderson Cemetery near Clarksdale, popularized by Troy Taylor's 2001 book Beyond the Grave, while this is a separate Anderson Cemetery just outside Palmer. Local legend holds that after dark, trees along the tree line seem to part to reveal a path to older tombstones, and that a spectral wolf chases off trespassers who wander too close. Visitors report orbs of light, dark shadows with red eyes on certain nights, and a woman dressed in black.
Well-kept rural cemetery still in use, north of Palmer. Visit during daylight on the public road, keep clear of burials, and treat the graves with respect.
