La Purisima Mission is a reconstructed Spanish mission and living-history park in Lompoc; the 1824 Chumash uprising ended in a deadly battle on the grounds. Visitors report cold spots in the church and the sense of being watched, and Ghost Adventures investigated in 2009. Most of the ghost stories come from guidebooks and TV rather than documented investigations.
State historic park open daily with a visitor center; living-history events on select days.
