The Historic Argo Hotel in Crofton was built in 1912 to serve railroad travelers. It was renamed the New Meridian Hotel in 1923 and became the New Meridian Clinic in 1935 before being restored as a bed and breakfast. Nebraska tourism and travel writers list it among the state's most haunted places to stay. The most persistent spirit is said to be a woman named Alice who lingers in the basement, and guests report doors that open and close on their own, paintings that move, and phantom sounds, including a child's voice.
Operating bed and breakfast with Victorian-style rooms; the best way to experience it is an overnight stay.
