Known locally as the "Lady of the Lake," the ghost of a girl said to have drowned while waterskiing at Gott's Point on Lake Lowell in the 1970s has become one of the best-known legends in the Nampa area, though the specific drowning has not been independently documented. Visitors report seeing her sitting on the shoreline rocks, staring out at the water, and hearing what sounds like gasping for air late at night — she disappears whenever someone tries to approach.
Gott's Point is a day-use area on Lake Lowell, part of Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, which is open during daylight hours. Follow refuge rules, and watch for water hazards.
