Eureka grew from the Tintic Mining District after silver was found in 1869, and its Main Street is lined with empty brick buildings that earned it a reputation as a ghost town. Ghost Adventures investigated in a 2018 episode, visiting buildings including the Gatley Building, the McCormick bank building and the historic City Hall. Locals tell of doors slamming, loud footsteps and children's voices there. The Tintic Historical Society runs a small museum in town.
A small working town with a museum in the 1925 depot and 1899 City Hall (call or check the Tintic Historical Society for hours). The old buildings are private or unsafe, and cell service is limited, so plan ahead. The pin marks the town.
