Denver Children's Home opened in the late 1880s as an orphanage on Albion Street, then known as the Denver Orphans' Home. A fire in 1888 killed several children on the attic floor. The organization still operates today, providing youth housing and counseling services. Staff and visitors describe children's voices and crying on the floor where the fire occurred, and a woman in a wedding gown seen on the stairs and along the second-floor hallway.
Active residential treatment center for youth on Albion Street, with an on-site school. It is not open to visitors, and the children and staff deserve privacy. View it from the street only.
