The Dauphine Orleans Hotel in the French Quarter includes May Baily's Place, which the hotel says was one of the first and most notorious bordellos of the city's red-light era. The hotel itself tells of its ghosts, led by Millie Baily, a sister of the bordello operator, who is said to appear in a wedding gown after her Civil War soldier fiance was killed in a gambling fight on their wedding day. A teenage dancer called Jewel is also said to be seen in the ballroom, helping late guests find their rooms. Guests, employees and ghost hunters report odd sounds, flickering televisions, broken glasses, barstools that seem to float and doors that open on their own. The Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures held two overnight lockdowns at the hotel.
Working hotel with May Baily's bar, open to overnight guests and drinkers. The hotel's own haunted-history page tells the stories; ask the front desk which rooms are linked to them.
