Also known as Georgiana Cemetery, this Brevard County burial ground dates to the 18th century, making it one of the oldest in the area, and holds soldiers from the Civil War through both World Wars alongside the region's original settlers. Its best-known grave belongs to Ethel Allen, a 19-year-old found murdered and mutilated on the banks of the Indian River on November 21, 1934, in a case that remains unsolved. Visitors, including at least one witness who grew up next door and camped in the adjoining yard as a child, describe strange noises and an unmistakable presence felt near the grounds after dark.
Historic public cemetery open to visitors during daylight and closed at night. Stay on the paths and treat the graves with respect.
