The Catfish Plantation is a Victorian house on Water Street in Waxahachie, built in 1895, that served as a restaurant from 1984. Staff and diners spoke of three resident spirits: Caroline, said to be an early owner who knocked wine glasses off tables; Elizabeth, said to be a young bride killed on her wedding day, who writes names in window condensation; and Will, a farmer who once lived on the property. The restaurant closed during the pandemic and the house was later listed for sale.
Not open to visitors; the house is private property and was closed as a restaurant. It can be seen from the street. Please do not enter the grounds, and check current status before visiting.
